Cold Spray Lead
Position Overview
Position: Research Engineer/Research Scientist
Time: Full-Time
Project: Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing of DoD Components
Listing: 2201
HAMR Industries is searching to fill a full-time research engineer (B.S./M.S.) or research scientist (Ph.D.) position. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative team to provide research and engineering expertise to continue developing our capabilities in cold spray additive manufacturing and cold spray repair. A strong candidate will have background in cold spray and additive manufacturing of metals, or significant experience in materials science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, or engineering science. Candidates are expected to be familiar with tools such as CAD, SOLIDWORKS, Cura, Blender (or equivalent). The position will focus on evaluation of cold spray additive manufacturing (CSAM) and cold spray repair for commercial and DoD applications by exploring the fundamental process-structure-property relationships for these techniques. Numerous alloy systems will be evaluated by HAMR, with a goal of pushing the boundaries of cold spray and AM as a whole. Particular emphasis is on utilization of cold spray for sustainment, and for hypersonics and space applications with eventual light manufacturing and production of custom components.
Our company offers significant room for growth, a fulfilling workplace, and a strong collaborative environment which challenges team members to learn new skills and refine their capabilities. We aim to accommodate a more modern approach to the work environment and offer benefits such as Unlimited PTO, extended maternity/paternity leave, remote/hybrid work, and flexible work hours. In addition, HAMR is expanding to the Pittsburgh region to Neighborhood 91, which is a growing and novel campus dedicated to bringing advanced manufacturing to Pittsburgh. If this sounds interesting to you, you could be a part of our team!
