N91 Announces Acquisition of FormAlloy X5R at HAMR!

We are excited the news has finally been revealed that Neighborhood 91 is bringing in FormAlloy Technologies, Inc. newest machine, the X5R, which will be housed at HAMR! We look forward to using this machine to support applications in hypersonics, space, propulsion, maritime, and munitions while also strengthening the Defense Industrial Base as a contract manufacturer.

Some quick highlights:

  • LargeFormat: 1.8m x 1.1m x 1.1m build maximums

  • ComplexParts: 8 axes, 6-axis robot with coordinated motion trunnion enabling highly complex geometries

  • MultiMaterial: Two independent feeders (with room to grow!) enables clads, blends, and full 3D functional grading.

  • MultiFeedstock: Capable of powder and wire to support the best material-process combination and process economics.

  • HighPower: Using an 3kW nLIGHT, Inc. CFX for the tailorability and control.

  • Repeatable: With FormAlloy's DEDSmart process monitoring, control, and data logging, confidence goes up and qualification time goes down.
