HAMR Tours the Steel City Spark Cell

HAMR Industries had the honor touring the Steel City Spark Cell innovation officers through our space. The officers also got to tour Metal Powder Works. At both places, they got to see demonstrations to lay the seeds in mapping civilian technology to military needs. With this collaboration with others across the Pittsburgh tech community, we will explore how regional innovation can directly support national defense.

The proximity of the neighbors to the 171st Air Refueling Wing and the 911th Airlift Wing has contributed to some valuable collaborations that enable innovative thinking within the ranks of our military. The Steel City Spark Cell is leading the way in this innovation. These visits have opened doors to further discussions including bringing service personnel on campus for additional hands on training, as well as projects to look at hard to source replacement parts using additive manufacturing.
